Demagnetization Methods
PROMAG systems use two primary demagnetization approaches, selected according to component geometry, material, residual field, production requirements, and required level of demagnetization.
Pulse Decaying Demagnetization
Stationary Coil
The component remains stationary inside the coil while an alternating magnetic field is rapidly increased and then precisely reduced to zero. Microprocessor-controlled current, frequency, and waveform provide accurate control of the demagnetization process.
Low-frequency operation (down to 1 Hz) helps improve magnetic field penetration in thick-walled and complex components.

- Deep demagnetization requirements
- Components that cannot be continuously conveyed through a coil
Continuous Pass Demagnetization
Conveyor Pass
The component passes through a coil generating a continuous alternating magnetic field. Demagnetization occurs as the component is gradually moved out of the magnetic field.
This method is particularly suitable for high-volume production lines and automated inspection systems, providing efficient and continuous processing with lower instantaneous power requirements than pulse-based systems.
