VW Earth Pressure Cell
The Sanlien VW Earth Pressure Cell is designed for the precise measurement of total pressure within earth fills and embankments. Constructed with two circular stainless steel plates welded around their edges, the cell houses a narrow chamber filled with de-aired oil.
Variations in earth pressure compress the plates, increasing oil pressure accordingly. This pressure change is detected by a vibrating wire pressure transducer, connected to the plates through a short length of steel tubing, ensuring precise and stable readings over time.
